  • Flarum foundation, 3: signing the notary papers

In part two we clarified what exactly we are committing to with the Flarum Foundation.

It's 9.30 AM. In an hour, the notary transaction takes place. I will initially set up the foundation by myself, after that I will add both founders @jordanjay29 and @Franz as additional board members through the chamber of commerce. The benefit here is that, would we have required them to sign along with me, they would have additional expenses to cover.

It's not the first time for me to set up a company nor is it the first time to set up one requiring notary interference. Being able to rely on these experiences, the advice from countless others and the expert opinion of Arnoud Engelfriet has helped shape the steps involved for our future. There are so many decisions involved that it is pretty easy to go astray, but I think we have a firm grasp of things right now.

Yet I am very excited, even nervous. Because creating a foundation propels this project forward, a project that deserves the attention it receives, it deserves to move into a stage of professionalism and it deserves to be the best open forum software. We're going to do everything in our power to make that happen.

You look like a pro! Wait, you are a pro!
Again, thanks for all your efforts in making Flarum a more professional organization. Something you should be proud of.

luceos changed the title to Flarum foundation, 3: signing the notary papers .

sorry for sounding like a noob here but when do you recon it will be finished.
and what are your concerns regarding rolling out a stable release.

Software, fundamentally, isn't easily "finished". Our first priority technically is to get to the first stable release. But we have to work with the availability of our contributors. And therefor we cannot raise your expectations by giving out promises we cannot keep.

Thanks so much for all that you guys are doing. Much appreciated.
