Great extension. No doubt I will be using it.

May I make a small suggestion, can the stats shown be 'rounded up' please.
It will make the stats look much neater and will save up using screen real-estate

For example:
Discussions: 7,465 becomes Discussions: 7K+
Posts: 110,650 becomes Posts: 100K+
Members: 6,231 becomes Members: 6K+

Is it possible for a change to be made for the way this displays on mobile?

Currently the widget will appear above the discussions.
Could it be moved to the footer or instead placed inside the side bar on mobile where the Search, Flagged posts and notifs sit?

Edit: Used the CSS above to remove it from phones but would still like a way to see it either bottom of page or inside the side-bar on mobile

Ralkage Add an option to relocate the widget to the hamburger menu when in mobile view.

Hi, has this "to-do" item been abandoned? like many asking, I think it would be great to not have to hide the widget on mobile/tablets and just have it at the bottom of the hamburger menu items (or at the bottom of the discussions/posts list right before the footer.

IanM that’s a welcome change, thanks. I have a question though. I have set some permissions for this extension, namely regular users can’t see who the last registered user is. So, since caching is used, when a regular user happens to be the one that refreshes the cache, does that mean the cached value won’t contain who the last registered user is, hence when a mod sees the widget, he will be seeing what a regular user cached?

I’m asking, since I’ve noticed a similar problem with Sycho’s online users widget caching and he helped me work around that limitation by cloning his repo and applying some code changes.

Litalino this extension was never designed to work with the widgets core. Adding support for this is possible, but not on the roadmap at this time.

@IanM If you add statistics on total online members and total current guest visits, that would be great.

CyberGene no, all of the cache data will be refreshed, no matter if the actual user request that triggered it has the full range of permissions or not.

Once the cache has updated, we then check permissions on the given user to see if those values are allowed to be serialized. Since the cache is not directly available to the user, I don't believe there would be an issue here.

Seems its mess with Ignore correspondence. Common statistics in admin panel showing 10.1K posts, but widget shows +500 more. Looks like Ignore correspondence option didn't work.

All extensions and depencies just updated with composer (+migrate +clear cache). Before update widget shows also 10.1K.

Or it start counts something else.. Likes? Polls? Deleted? Cant understood..

I think there is something wrong with the post count of this forum. I have ignore private discussions set to on, but I don't think it's functioning properly.

The default dashboard statistics widget reports 50 total posts, but this extension reports 79. I believe the default dashboard widget to be correct.

Could someone look into this?

Also, is there a way I can move this widget to the bottom on my home page? It's currently sitting next to the tab list, and I don't like it. I want it to be below everything on the tags page. The default spot on the all discussions page can remain.

I'm seeing the same results as BrodyStone21 on the post count. My forum is brand new so it only has 3 posts on it, correctly reported on the admin dashboard, but the stats extension widget says 5 posts. There are 2 discussion threads, so I wonder if the extension is double-counting the first post in each thread?

BrodyStone21 You can change the position from the Forum Widgets extension.

bothers Are you sure you have no hidden publications? When deleting a discussion, Flarum first hides it, and then you must click on "Delete forever".

Thanks @Oshvam ! Yes, I'm very sure I have no hidden publications, but your comment inspired me to go poke around in phpmyadmin, and what I see there might explain things. Here's the posts table (i blocked out the content column because it has visibly spicy language, heh):

a cropped screenshot of the posts table, showing 5 entries. For the 'type' column, 3 display 'comment'. The remaining 2 display 'discussionStickied' and 'discussionRenamed' respectively

So there are 5 rows, but only 3 are identified as comments - perhaps the admin dashboard version only includes stuff with the "comment" value in the type column, but the extension doesn't differentiate?

bothers this is the code that counts posts FriendsOfFlarum/forum-statistics-widgetblob/21b444b2febb10a8dfc73f7d4b63b413d1e80356/src/AddForumStats.php#L86

But there might be a misunderstanding with the implementation. I don't think CommentPost::query() actually scopes the query by the type, though it was probably the expected outcome of this call. I'm not able to test at the moment, but looking at the implementation in core there only seems to be a scope for all Post::query() to only return post types currently registered by extensions. The child classes for posts are only used to "cast" query results, and to host the static methods to create posts.

Outside of the type issue, the code will also count soft deleted posts and posts waiting approval.
