Can authors automatically moderate their threads ?

Hello I'm looking for a forum software that would let any new topic be moderated by its author, mostly by editing replies from other members.
If Flarum has this feature please let me know the full list of rights that an author can have on its thread.

bavard with a bare Flarum users have only limited permissions on their discussions. They can only edit their own posts and the discussion title. And they can delete the discussion as long as there's no replies. Some of these can be customized via permissions.

To give discussion authors more power, an extension could be developed. No extension provides this feature at this time as far as I'm aware.

I love this idea. But we don't have this features (as an extension) yet sadly.

Kylo It should be. I asked @luceos about this the other day for another request and he suggested the PostPolicy code would be a good place to start.

The benefits I see with this feature could be:

less need of moderation team
less abuse of moderation from a "bad" admin and its team
more responsible and civilized members

bavard It's absolutely a good extension idea. I think this would require a very mature community, or permissions that just allow a select group to start discussions, but it's probably not something every community needs. I could easily see a use case for it (such as in roleplay sites), so it makes for good extension fodder. 🙂

Perhaps this moderation right could be automatically given to members who have made X posts and did not get more than Y warnings.

A related feature (that I just thought of) would be to let the author start a journal type of thread where only him can reply.
