Let's be honest, expectation is one of the hardest things to manage. We not only have to handle community expectations, but also team expectations. In both situations they affect morale. We mismanaged expectation in the past and being up front about what and when we do things only strengthens our relation with both parties.
Having said so, we can still fail to meet our own deadlines. It's extremely likely to happen in any of the future releases. But by being transparent about the reason at the earliest opportunity we can improve our position with those passionate about our progress.
Nevertheless I feel overly (perhaps too 😬 ) confident about the current team. Maybe we're not the best organised or most funded group of nerds people, but we enjoy building Flarum together 🤝 ! And with that in mind reaching stable is well within the scope of our milestone/release planning for this year 👏
