nixpc I get where you are coming from. I've always seen this type of thing as a carrot for "premium", but not in all cases. I agree, it is very annoying to have to sign up for an account just to get access to content, but ultimately, if the forum owner is looking for engagement and onboarding, then this is a good way of attracting new users.

jslirola It really works with the Code and Links but there's an issue.

If there are multiple codes in a post, it hides only the first one and later on whole post is hidden.

Can you please configure it to hide every code in the post individually with the text "Login or Sign up to see the code"

rob006 The design and translation is based on the original extension but, as far as I understand the extension should replace the content using JS (client side) to reduce server workload.

Also the original extension was using two PHP functions to truncate a post that may not be installed on all servers, I've updated to code to check it and now in case it doesn't exists the content will be replaced but not truncated.

I'll add those characters at the end for the next release.

Why PHP mode is called "legacy" and it is not recommended? This is the mode that actually works - truncating content at JS level is very easy to work around and access hidden content without an account.

Also PHP mode does not add ... at the end of truncated content.

I would say that this is controversial decision and it should be more clear about downsides of this mode (like everyone with noscript or access to developer tools may easily read full content without an account). Also I'm not sure if additional load will be noticeable, this extension does not seems to do anything resource heavy.

rob006 You're probably right, I will try to perform some performance tests with a forum that includes a lot of messages to be replaced and I will compare the times between the JS mode and PHP.

If the difference is not very significant, I will update the extension to only use the functionality with PHP and avoid the problem of source code that filters the original content.

jslirola PHP-FPM reports the following error:

WARNING: [pool XXXXX] child XXXXX said into stderr: "NOTICE: PHP message: PHP Notice:  Undefined variable: newHtml in /app/vendor/jslirola/flarum-ext-login2seeplus/src/HideContentInPostPreviews.php on line 28"

It seems that the variable should be $newHTML instead of $newHtml (line 28)
