Seems that flarum/nicknames is near to impossible to install with instructions on first post.
And also have the problem to configure, because translations aren't loaded 😅

How can i remove the nicknames extension now?

Lolu That only appears when a model has multiple drivers. As for the email, that's not as much a slug driver issue as that it's simpler to implement that feature with the slug without transliteration, since the title of the discussion should be included elsewhere in the email. That link should still work.

Zeokat for the translations issue, try disabling and reenablinf the English Lang pack extension.

You install using composer via command line in your flarum directory (where composer.json is). You can browse all compatible extensions via extiverse or the discussions under the extensions tagged (not those tagged incompatible).

askvortsov How can I fix the link so that it has the full name, not just numbers? Is it related to the fact that the forum is russian?

robinodds Thanks for the reply. It turns out I'd reverted to beta 12 at some stage. Following those instructions I can upgrade to beta 14, but the site no longer loads. I get en empty white page with no error (either on screen or in the Flarum logs).

When you go to the page, does it change to the full link? If not this could be a transliteration issue: the Cyrillic characters can't be transliterated to url compliant Latin ones so they are ommited. This should be fixable with the use of a custom slug driver for discussions, but an extension for that would be needed.

askvortsov On the forum all links full. The problem is only in the emails.

That might be an issue in the email generating code then, where it should be using a slug driver but isn't. The links should still work though

Nice! Just upgraded. Seems to be working well.

I had some trouble with the nicknames extension. I had to remove it from composer.json, then upgrade to beta 15, and then install nicknames afterward. Not sure what caused it, but it seemed like there were some compatibility issuers with fof: user-bio, best answer, sitemap and one other I am forgetting... Strangely, Composer seems to be happy with them coexisting with Nicknames after previously upgrading to beta 15, then adding Nicknames. Hopefully, someone else finds this useful.

One thing about the Nicknames extension, and I'm not sure where to post this: Should there be an option to set Nickname when signing up? E.g. click a box "would you like a nickname different than your username used to login?" and then a new textbox appears.

No that feature doesn't exist, the nickname is set under the users profile settings after signup. You could request the team to add it though. Also, wasn't the fof nickname extension was released with beta 15? Or did you install on beta 14 before it was 'officially' released. I went straight from 13 to 15 so I could have missed that.

prohad If you mean that giving Moderators access to edit post allows them to edit admin post as well this is by design, permissions like that work on all post so it's working by design.
