Come on, you had a perfect identity before this "fresh and exciting new identity", let's not fool ourselves. You decided to spoil it with a color that does not represent at all what you are going to express. This blueish purple just hurt people eyes 🙁
And it seems I'm not the only who thinking this.
Orange was warm, friendly, soothing and inviting. The clean, elegant overall style of Flarum make the rest. This new color is cold, hard, jarring and intimidating. It just has a bad contrast with white, and this is a fact, not an opinion. Maybe it could work perfectly with dark mode (on the other hand, the orange didn't work with dark for the same reasons).
Plus, even if purple is associated with luxury, that's not this kind of blue-purple. That's a more red-purple. This is indeed often associated with dark, hell, even death, it's feral, funerary... Definitely not luxury. Gold maybe. And you know what color gold is. 😉
