RelicSystem I'm surprised that extension manager is not bundled with Flarum 2.0.0 - oversight or by design? (I assume by design because how do you forget it?)

The extension manager with 1.8 is bundled if using the tarballs, not when using composer. With 2.0 we will likely do the same thing as using composer directly is much more reliable and you can always add it anyway.

As a heads up, flarum.org is currently down.

An upgrade of kubernetes, that hosts the website, has caused the outage. We've narrowed the issue down to the persistent disk that redis needs in our stack; a fix is being worked on.

When we feel it's ready to go stable. Aside from that we are also in the process of using our NLNet grant connections to have the 2.0 beta audited, feedback from that is likely going to be included before a release. Taking this into account, I feel that a release this half of the year is not likely.

it is not a byobu replacement. Byobu will likely still be updated for 2.0

I hope there will be a tool for importing. This is the most used messenger and it would be a shame if all the messages were lost.

Yolo there will be no import tools, but you can still use both extensions together. Or just continue to use byobu alone.

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing such a migration tool crowdfunded to copy Byobu discussions into the Direct Messages extension, I feel the foundation might actually have an interest in having such a tool available. It doesn't have to be first party or maintained by FoF either, as long as its clear what purpose it serves. What do you think?

Just a heads up, thought i would try the Demo site for 2.0 but it seems to be down.
Also, any roadmap availible for upcoming beta and/or final releases?

Was considering implementing Flarum but the search in current 1.x version stopped that so considering either waiting for 2.0 or jumping to something else, hence i wanted to see the demo site for 2.0.

Might not be the right place but noticed in the current Beta that partial word search is not currently implemented, any plan for this in the final 2.0?

ie, searching for "search" would not match "searching" in the post content or title.

Will there be a native support of a Progressive Web App? This is THE best feature for me. Just discovered, that the PWA Extension hasn't been updated for 6 months and I am afraid its abandoned... I just built up a community as an replacement for a Facebook group community and the PWA is a real game changer to gain acceptance in the community

Also nested Replies would be a great feature for me

No, it will remain an extension. But many people use it, including clients from flarum bv, so we carry it's maintenance collaboratively.

The upgrade/migration from latest stable 1.8 to 2.0 should not be an issue in terms of database integrity. Whether extensions you use are compatible by then will be the biggest question for most communities. We are doing our best to make the transition as simple as possible.
