  • Blog - Adds a blog section to your community

Hey, nice extension. Just tried it, and it works great!

Below are a few things I observed:

I didn't set a category in Blog settings. I thought it was optional.

Later it kept asking me to choose a category. I went ahead to select one in the settings, but that didn't reflect in my blog editor. It required the page to reload.

I did and lost all my progress.

To combat that, I installed FoF Draft so that I don't lose my blog progress next time.

Turn out it isn't compatible with this extension and broke the structure of the site.

So basically, if you forget to choose the category in extension settings, then this problem will arise again.

You should add that to the UI and make it mandatory for the users to select at least 1 category for the blog.

Also, is there any way to control or edit the permalink slugs generated by the extension?

luceos I honestly assumed the question was about one of the links to the Blog, not necessarily about the name of the extension 🤔

I use is as an FAQ, or information repository, it's ideal for that. Just being called blog in the sidebar is irritating.

You can customize strings for many extensions using FoF Linguist. Rename it to FAQ/Knowledge Base or whatever you'd like. Of course there are more places "Blog" may appear, you have to find the keys in the list by searching for Blog and update them everywhere. If you find any strings that are not "translate-able" then you could request v17 to correct that, from what I could see most if not all of them were available including the sidebar.

Personally I feel their support extension is better suited for a FAQ / KB which is what I use, it is paid but it does the job well. https://discuss.flarum.org/d/23741-support-platform-turn-your-community-into-a-support-platform

ctml Thanks, for your help guys, I have used linguist, I had hoped to not have to add another extension.

      Update 0.6.4

      Changelog:

      • Add compatibility for Flarum 1.5's (in development) stackable modals

This update allows extension developers working with Flarum's latest development versions to use blog within their development environments. This update is not needed for normal forums yet.

      To update, run:

      composer update v17development/flarum-blog

If you run into any issues, please make sure to create an issue here: https://github.com/v17development/flarum-blog/issues

        davwheat Hi,
Please add translate code to "Manage" Button text, I can't translate it to another language by "fof-linguist" extension. I mean this button in blog's post header:

Is there a limitation of how many posts can be shown in one blog-discussion ? I transformed a pre-exist tag into blog section. Some long discussions with about 100+ posts can only show 10+ posts inside. if there is any way to show all posts?

            5 days later

How can i hide this Blog Category from the forum?
I only want that a number of people publish in a Blog, not all users

"Notícias" Is a Blog category not a forum category, and seems confuse the users

            Another question...
Is there a way to put articles like this in my blog?

              5 days later

masihdindar will fix that in the next update! Thanks for noticing!

Teddan There should be no limit and it shoud autoload posts if it has more posts (just like normal discussions). Do you perhaps see any errors in the browser console?

hepaly Will look into that. Thanks!

Fantas Via your Admin dashboard, you can change the rights of posting in these tags to admins only. Then users cannot select the tag 🙂

Other extensions should work as usual, if you install an embed extension on your forum, it will add an embad and displays as such 😎

                JasperVriends Ok thanks!
What's happen is that the users seems to be a little confused with the blog tags in the discussion tags, and if they don't understand that they will get an error and they gone.

"composer update v17development/flarum-blog" command is not updating extension in my website 🙁
Anyone can help me? (Current version: v.0.5.0, Flarum updated to v1.5.)

JasperVriends Thanks for help. there is no error reported in console. In my case, for example, a discussion with 175 posts originally only shows the lastest 10+ posts when it's converted to a blog article. But there are other posts that show all posts meanwhile. it's confusing.
