I want to move ForumNav out of the ul li tag and want it to be under the ul ...

specifically the line <ul>{listItems(this.items().toArray())</ul>

I have looked through the file:

my composer doesn't work.. can you help me?

JasperVriends I recommend you add something about the App Navigation.. Currently on the App Navigation there is nothing that doesn't look aesthetically pleasing.

I am writing to report a specific issue I have encountered with the Flarum Blog module. The problem arises when dealing with blog posts that have a large number of comments, approximately around 200 or more.

Issue Description:
When I return to a blog post that I have previously visited, where I have read a significant number of comments (e.g., around 100 comments), the page does not automatically scroll down to the last read comment, despite the correct post number being present in the URL. This issue seems to occur consistently with posts that have a high comment count.

Steps to Reproduce:

Open a blog post with a high number of comments (200+).
Scroll through and read a large number of comments (around 100 or more).
Leave the post.
Revisit the same post later. The URL includes the correct post number (indicating the last read comment), but the page does not auto-scroll to that comment.

Hi guys.
We have problem with Post galleries ext within comment section below blog articles. When screen size exceed 840 px, CSS rule:

  .FlarumBlog-Article {
    @media screen and (min-width: 840px) {
      display: flex;
      flex-direction: row;
    }

sets parent element from display: block to display: flex which totally breaks the page design and functionality of the gallery.
I would like to kindly ask if is necessary to use flex at all?

As hotfix we set display: block back in custom CSS file, but it is not nice solution.

Hi all,

1)We cannot rename the /blog/ part of the url which does not look too good on some forums, better have 'news' for example.

2)None of the blog posts are canonical and if anyone copies the content, Google will not know our posts were the first ones to be indexed.

3)No idea why, but google does not index my blog post as:
https://website.com/blog/post-here
but
https://mail.website.com/blog/post-here.

No idea where this mail comes from, the page works, but on Google it does not look too good.

4)In each page title we have the word "blog" which kills the SEO keyword density. How to remove this please?

All of this causes the blog pages to not rank as expected.

Any help or suggestion would be more than appreciated as I am not managing to rank well with this type of blog vs other domains using wordpress.

You could use https://discuss.flarum.org/d/23872-custom-paths to modify this. It's a premium extension though.

GreXXL Thanks, I have noticed that this specific module had its last update in June 2023. If important issues like this are not fixed within the blog plugin, I may have to revert to WordPress. It means that the plugins are not being well maintained by whoever built them, as these are crucial issues.

clarkwinkelmann the empty header with dropdown arrows happens when an extension shows the side navigation component on a page that isn't listed inside of the side navigation. There's no single solution to this, the extension developer needs to make some choices: the current page could be dynamically added to the side navigation just when showing the same page, so that it appears on mobile, optionally using CSS to hide it on desktop. An alternate title head element could be provided using the .App-titleControl class, but if the side navigation is used at the same time additional CSS is needed to hide the empty dropdown control. Unfortunately I can't link to any code, I've dealt with this before but only in private-source extensions.

@JasperVriends you can this fixed? This problem has been around for over 2 years 🙂

I don’t know if this is an issue or whether I’m doing something wrong, but I’ve created a tag called blog to use with this plugin but it appears for a user to choose to post in this category when I don’t want to allow this. Can it be hidden from users so they can’t post forum posts in it?

chrisc297 you can use the Flarum Permissions admin page to restrict which groups can post in a given tag ("Restrict by tag" in the top right)
