Hey all. JPG and PNG images upload is not working for me. But if I export JPG file into GIF - voila, upload comes with no problem. Any ideas about those file types? Thanks.

Vadim_RUNN do you see any errors when you try uploading? I assume this relates to your configured mime types can you post that?

Vadim_RUNN make sure the mbstring extension for php is installed and enabled. If it isn't helping make sure exif is installed too: https://www.php.net/manual/en/exif.installation.php

luceos Awesome! Now it's working! Exif module for PHP was not enabled. Mbstring module is not allowed by hoster.

Is it me or when attempting to paste in an image (from clipboard) it errors out with "Oops! Something went wrong. Please reload the page and try again."

I checked the logs and it states that the upload max filesize is reached:

So I enable the "Image resize" setting which to my understanding would resize the uploaded image:

I clear cache in the dasboard as well as "Fixup your forum" and still errors. If I have a small resolution say 1024x764 in my clipboard, that gets uploaded without an issue.

Would this be a limitation for freeflarum or have I configured something incorrectly?

Upload max filesize limit reached from php.ini.

FreeFlarum has a limited upload size, so yes it's due to their configuration. You'd need to get in touch with them to understand their max filesize or ask them to raise it.

Hi,

I'm sorry if this simple question has been asked and answered but I couldn't find it.

When trying to upload an image off an Android phone it gives me the option of completing the action using: Camera / Camera Camcorder / Files.

It does not let me access the media gallery. Is this normal and is there any way that I can get it to access the media gallery?

ashnazir I don't think the extension has any control over that, it's just using the browser native input[type=upload] field, so you will likely experience the same behavior on any website that offers file upload.

What browser and version are you using? Maybe you need to give the browser permission to access your files.

I've just tried another website that offers Image uploads and the screen it offers was a lot more streamlined ie It showed large images, straight away, that are part of the gallery, where this one first gives me the option of choosing Camera / Camera Camcorder / Files - then it shows me small icons. Totally different user experience. Not sure why.

Hello,

After the migration to 1.05, I can't configure the plugin, the message is : "This extension has no settings."

and I don't have the option to add an image in the posts, although the plugin is enable

I tried to clear the cache several times without success, no error message in the logs.
The only error message is in the browser console:
Uncaught TypeError: ({}) is not a function

I don't know if this has anything to do

Is someone have an idea...

This error comes from a failing new update of Flarum and bundled extensions v1.1. It was correct not too long ago though.

I'm not sure what other issue you are encountering? Did you flush your cache? php flarum cache:clear

I don't know why there was a need to do this command because I had just done the update

But, changing the version of the plugin did not solve my problem with it. I still get the same message:

I think I'm going to give up trying to use it, because nobody seems to be able to figure out where the error came from

I had given up trying to get this plugin to work for a while, and I just found the solution!
by deleting one part of the folder tree.

D-W all files have a mime type. All of them, you can use file --mime-type <file> on linux systems for instance to retrieve the mime type.
