  • FriendsOfFlarum Byōbu, well integrated, advanced private discussions

Recently, my Flarum has been getting slower, so I've been toggling plugins one by one to identify the issue. I found that Byobu is consuming a significant amount of resources. In the screenshot, the sections highlighted in red indicate the impact of enabling Byobu. After enabling it, the loading time increases by around 150ms, and disabling it reduces the loading time by a similar amount. Is there a way to optimize the resource usage of Byobu? Thank you.

**ERROR Private discussion | 2 recipients **

Hi, when I create a private discussion (as a user) with admin, or Admins group (2 recipients)), the chat is created but I always get the error message attached. Do you know which php file shall I change to fix this?

Thanks
Alex

    Thanks for sharing.
I've seen the .log file and the error is about swiftmailer - it's not configured locally so Flarum is unable to send the email.
The same error happen when I try to register as a new user. (it works only when I create a new user from admin panel)

But it's OK since the mailserver is configured in production, so it'd work.

[2024-02-29 12:53:48] flarum.ERROR: Swift_TransportException: Process could not be started [The system cannot find the path specified.
    ] in D:\wamp64\www\laravel\forum\flarum\vendor\swiftmailer\swiftmailer\lib\classes\Swift\Transport\StreamBuffer.php:294

    Many thanks 🙂

alex32 you can set the mail driver to log on the test server to instruct Flarum to write emails to the log file instead of trying to send them out.

It doesn't seem possible to remove groups from a private discussion

This seems to conflict with Tags overview page. I encountered an error similar to this. I thought it's also the Blog extension that creates the error but then I discovered it's actually this extension.

KJeido I thought it's also the Blog extension that creates the error but then I discovered it's actually this extension

Can you share the error? Or at least explain how you discovered it to be this extension?

luceos I only discovered it by enabling/disabling extensions one by one since i don't have access thru SSH because I'm only using a free service by InfinityFree.

The error is that, when the Byobu extension is enabled and I go back to view the discussions under a specific tag, I get an error and the discussions under that tag does not appear.

KJeido what error then... You know this is not helping right? We are not psychic 😅

Please look at https://docs.flarum.org/troubleshoot. At least report the extensions used and the error. I assume you can somehow see the logs of your site, how else can you manage it?

is it possible to hide the"private Discusstions" button from those users who are not authorized to start private discusstions?

What's an alternative to this? I wanna use this but I'm still getting an error. So I'm looking for alternatives.

KJeido that site is shady. It openes several download popups of which one mentioned sms costs. Can you use pastebin or something to just copy the contents.
