Kyrne I believe this one should be simple and for the greater good of all. Users being able to select the theme on their own will from their own settings.

Do you know if there is an extension to divide the home page in categories? So, you don't only have tags, but also sections on the forum. Each thread belongs to one category.

Let's say for example you want to do a gaming forum. You can have one section for PC gaming, one for PS4 gaming etc etc... And those will be divided in the home page as well.

This is a wonderful effort!

I am setting up a private forum and I am wondering if your user management extension will allow me to manually add users. I was going to see about programming this myself, but no need to duplicate work if you're already handling it.

I've read that Flagrow byōbu will rely on a not yet provided is_private database marker to avoid private threads becoming publicly visible when disabling this extension (jordanjay29).

Will it be difficult later to update Flagrow byōbu if I start using it now?

luceos correct me if I'm wrong but it's not ready for general use until the core team releases the next update (which is far from close).

Ralkage Ah! Well consider this an official feature request. Manually editing the DB can be tiresome and leaves no room for having casual moderators be upgraded to admins.

Later, what may happen when you update is that the PMs created before the update may not have is_private set to true and may become public when the extension is disabled. Don't quote me on that, though.

If you want to talk about how it's not ready for general use, then keep in mind this is beta software, with beta extensions. Nothing is technically ready for general use here, yet here we are. ❤

datitisev Yes I'm aware of all of that. It's in the next release that's 35% complete after 9 months. That doesn't give me the feature or much confidence I'll have it anytime soon.

Beta software or not, the pace is painfully slow. I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic.

In the meantime, I still have the feature request so I tried this topic.

This sounds good. In this case it should be easy to later retrofit the is_private marker to the then already existing private discussions. I therefore will give this extension a go.

To be honest... even without trying that's exactly how you come across.

I see it like this: You have only two options, a) to choose a software that suits your needs as it is, or b) choose a promising but somewhat lacking project and be able and willing to fill the void. Repeated moaning doesn't promise success.

Extensions that I would like to see.

When a post have many likes, then you will see something like: 'Person A, Person B and 30 others like this'.
We need to click on the "30 likes" to get a new window up to see all the 30 names who liked the post, instead, the list with names who liked a post should be shown by a mouse-over, fast, easy, no clicks.
If a person ask a question on the forum, then when people replies to him, the posts should come under the persons question instead of being spread all over the discussion like it is now. It is very messy & busy the way to find all the replies to what OP wrote. Make it so all the replies that replied to the question should be under the question. Every reply that are connected to the question should be under the question. If someone don't reply and just writes something and someone replies that guy, then that reply should be under that persons question and so on. More organized, easier to fins all the answers.
I haven't tried it yet, but can you write code or mathematical calculations that would look nice?
I mean, if I write something like:
if (true) {
System.out.println("This look messy");
It is hard to see that this is a code, is there anyway to make it easier? Something like Stackoverflow.
Haven't tried BB code and stuff right now, at work and don't have time for testing the BB code and so on for now, but if there aren't any extensions for this, then it would be nice to have it too.

For 3, you can use the extension for Markdown. It is the same syntax as Github

Main issue with that is that you can currently reply/quote multiple posts in a single post. Trying to build a tree from that will often result in a big diamond problem. An extension could be made so every post is an answer to a single other post, and then build a tree based on that (Disqus/Reddit style)

You will need a whole Q&A extension for that second suggestion. Turning Flarum into a Stackoverflow-like platform is probably not the easiest thing to do...

markdown is by default installed, use tripple backtick around the code and on a separate line:
