Free Flarum hosting on an expert platform by FreeFlarum.com
- Edited
Because many forums seemed to have used FoF Byobu, I have installed the dev beta.16 branch for all forums.
CAUTION: This is an EXPERIMENTAL branch.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK - in other words, if your forum breaks, we have the right to not take any responsibility for it. If possible, report all bugs you find to the authors).
Syncing all forums right now.
hello, I don't know if you could help me, something happened with my forum when I put the extension "Progressive Web App"
I would appreciate it very much if you could fix it, thanks for your attention

elcubroproxd fixed
Enabling PWA will crash your forum for the first time. Clearing the cache fixes that. I have tried to setup an extender to automatically clear cache when an extension is enabled, but I wasn't successful. I don't want to remove extension because of such a pathetic bug, so if you encounter it I can clear the cache for you, at least until a fix is applied
SKevo Oh thank you very much!

trever-s yes, if you would own a server, pretty much anything becomes possible with the right extensions - Flarum is very flexible and if you are creative, you can customize it a lot to provide the functionality that you need (or ask someone to do it for you).
At FreeFlarum, we do not offer local file uploads (I am afraid that the storage for all forums would build up quickly). But Imgur Image upload extension is pretty easy to setup: https://github.com/matteocontrini/flarum-imgur-upload#configuration. All you need is a key, which is fairly simple to obtain (explained in the link).

SKevo Hello, could you help me to solve the error of the extension
"FoF upload" please, is that when I try to upload a file this appears: "It is not allowed to upload files of this type." I would appreciate it very much if you could help me solve it, thanks for your attention

elcubroproxd you must configure allowed file types in the extension settings, otherwise it won't work (if you haven't already done that).
If you need help, here is the link to the extension's official discussion. FreeFlarum isn't affiliated with Flarum or the extensions, so we can't assist you 100 % in this regard, sorry
SKevo Oh don't worry, thanks for replying!
Hey guys, freeflarum is offline today??
gabrielpipolo seems like some error encountered at our MySQL server. I have restarted it, seems to work again. We'll have to check the logs and see what had caused it though
SKevo Was a quick one, everything seems to be running fine again! thanks for the work, freeflarum is becoming so powerful!!
Hi, today i discovered Flarum Free, which looks amazing.
1. But I have a few questions, is Flarum Free a long-term project? I ask because I would like to start a sports forum of the city football club and I would not like Flarum Free to disappear from nowhere and I lose the whole discussion.
2. Another question, do I have any restrictions regarding uploaded data, images, etc.? It's hosted by you, so I'm wondering if there are any limits. This Free Flarum forum is amazing, maybe it wouldn't be bad to move it to the paid version.
3. Another thing, I would like to run Flarum Free on my domain, but I'm not able to set it up. I will be happy for your help.
The default values for my hosting for CNAME are as follows:
![
If my Free Flarum forum name is https://rg90.flarum.cloud/ how do I have to edit the entry on my hosting to make everything work ? And how do I edit it, then what do I have to enter in this field? ![
------------------------------
Thank you so much for your help, now I have one more question to install the full version of Flarum.
***** My hosting has the option to install using SSH, but I am not an experienced user and I am not able to install it via the command line.
I therefore ask, is it possible to install on a PC to some folder and then just copy it to FTP? Thank you

rg90 is Flarum Free a long-term project?
Yes, I suppose. Personally, I don't plan to quit anytime soon
rg90 I would not like Flarum Free to disappear from nowhere and I lose the whole discussion.
It is definitely not going to disappear without a warning. If anything happens (I hope not), it will be announced there. Moreover, you are free to download your database at anytime from your FreeFlarum settings page, so your data won't disappear either.
rg90 do I have any restrictions regarding uploaded data, images, etc.?
Yes, we don't allow direct file upload to our server, so at the moment you must use an external service, such as Imgur. This might change in the future.
rg90 Another thing, I would like to run Flarum Free on my domain, but I'm not able to set it up.
I don't know what registar is that, but I think that your FreeFlarum URL (without https://, eg.: rg90.freeflarum.com.
) is supposed to go in the "Content" field. At FreeFlarum, you then type in the CNAMEd URL (without https://, eg.: yoursubdomain.rg90.cz
).
rg90 is it possible to install on a PC to some folder and then just copy it to FTP?
Outside FreeFlarum, technically yes (we don't provide FTP access), but it's not recommended AFAIK. The installation process is not that hard even for inexperienced user IMO, because everything is documented here: https://docs.flarum.org/install.html

FF is around for 2+ years now. As for data, take regular backups
FF only keeps text data. And allows exporting database of your forum. So you can leave with all your data anytime you want, free of cost.
FF has made it clear before that there is no scope for a paid plan in immediate future.
- You can point your domain to abc.flarum.cloud
Almost everything regarding FF is done in 2-4 clicks, super easy. You will need SSH only if you want to self host Flarum.
