whisperwow So some things like regenerating a FOF Sitemap might not work without Flarum Scheduler enabled?
AFAIK, you can run FoF Sitemap in runtime mode, and it will work fine. This is intended for smaller forums, which FreeFlarum is too anyways, so this was never an issue
whisperwow I would be open to another donation tier that maybe allows for some things like Flarum Scheduler so that I can have a regularly updated sitemap which I have already submitted to Google.
IIRC, in the runtime mode, the sitemap is generated on fly on each request, which means that this is actually the most up-to-date it can get. As for another donation tier, the current donation system is designed to not provide any performance or other significant benefits for an individual forum, as it doesn't align well with FreeFlarum's goal being a free service.
whisperwow I would also consider a monthly paid subscription for higher levels of service. Is that something you've considered before?
While donations are always appreciated and keep the service alive, as I mentioned, they shouldn't provide any significant advantages over other forums. This is ultimately because FreeFlarum is a free service that I maintain in my spare time and I unfortunately can't offer paid services. There are also other reasons, which I won't get much into. But the principle at FreeFlarum is that if you want more control over your forum (e. g.: being able to enable scheduler and install custom extensions sooner), then I suggest you migrate to a self-hosted solution instead, as I wouldn't be able to maintain these services alone on top of my other duties
