How do I create a Category? And can I create a sub category, as well?
JamesBartlett you can use Tags extension along with the Categories extension - tags will act as categories. You can drag them in Tags settings to re-order them or create sub-tags and secondary tags, to put them in ordered hierarchy that will be displayed at your forum.
Is it possible to migrate from phpbb to freeflarum? We have a forum we've been using since 2007, but want to move away from phpbb...

tlauen FreeFlarum themselves does not develop any solutions that help you migrate to Flarum. Likewise, we unfortunately also do not support the idea of already established and running forums to migrate into FreeFlarum, as this service is primarily meant to help new and starting communities grow, and later migrate out (so forums hosted by FreeFlarum are allowed to download a backup copy of their data at anytime).
However, you may check the existing tools made by the Flarum community that may aid you in the process of converting your database and files to Flarum's format. Please, see https://discuss.flarum.org/d/31776 and https://discuss.flarum.org/?q=phpbb for more information.
Once you convert your phpBB backup to Flarum and are looking for a hosting service tailored for professional and grown communities, I recommend you to check out the Blomstra project, which is run by members of the Flarum team (side note: FreeFlarum is a community provided service, and is not affiliated with the Flarum Foundation).

Thank you for your swift answer
Looking at Blomstra it starts off quite steep. We're currently paying 100$ a year for our current forum, and we're hoping to find something along the same (or less). Do you know if there are other hosting services?
can i add my site to google search console

tlauen you can set Flarum up on pretty much any hosting now thanks to the zip files located on the install instructions page plus Softlucious has it available to install now with the Extension Manager extension installed. Creating a site using Flarum used to require more know how than it does now. If you need managed Flarum hosting I can recommend one but using the Extension Manager with their service may or may not work.
nathan-seo you can use the "HTML Head Items" extension to add the Google verification code in <head>
, then the process is standard as with any other website
