  • Suspended user should have a badge visible also to the public

I think there should be two cases. One is to ban users, but to permanently ban (delete) users.

  • Ban users (whether permanent or temporary)

    • The user is banned and cannot participate in any interaction on the forum, including but not limited to replying, posting, liking, and following others.
    • On the user's profile page, "This user is banned due to violation of ******."
  • Permanently block (delete) users

    • The user severely violates laws and other rules, giving the most severe punishment: permanently delete the account.

peopleinside the user still be able to login and read the reserved content

That's not supposed to be possible. When you are banned, you can still login, but you have the same access as guests. If you can see restricted content while being suspended it's a bug and should be reported.

peopleinside I think it is fine to allow login for suspended users but general message for user about ban reason seems like a must have for me.

Is there any "workaround" atm to allow visibility of suspend badge to all users?

Not at the moment i think. You can only create manually a group with a badge that should be assigned manually at the suspended user who for admin will have two badges: one visible to only admin and one visible to all.

tankerkiller125 I agree with disallowing suspended users from logging in at all. Plus having a suspended badge visible to the public. At least that's how it is most suitable for my case...

In any case, suspended users shouldn't appear as regular online users.

EDIT: It's funny that a suspended user might not notice that he is suspended as there is no possible way to know other than a notification which, in some cases, might not be viewed. This will cause some kind of confusion for the user, finding himself unable to interact with the community.

    +1 for this.

Suspended user should be able to see that their status is set to banned when they login and not just the notification, and you should be able to add a reason for the ban that only the user sees when they recieve it

      AlastairNixon +1 for this.

This is very subjective. I know forums that would be horrified to know the suspension status was shared publically.

If this was ever a feature, IMO it should be a setting, which is disabled by default. This could also be implemented as a small extension for those forums which want to display it

The username of the suspended user must be crossed out. Just an icon is not enough

      I totally agree.
But it should be optional and opt-in.
