Does the general public really need to know that a user is banned though? I feel like making it public knowledge that someone was banned appears at least to me like guilt tripping or shaming the person who was banned when what got them banned very well may have been an off day/spur of the moment thing.
I understand that this would be a permission thing so I'm not going to object to it in overall because I understand every community has a different definition of what's considered acceptable/normal. And in fact because I know every community is different I would actually agree that the permission should be brought forward for it.
clarkwinkelmann The reason type could also be something made public "This user was banned for spam", or things like that.
I feel like this right here is a great idea, but whether it's public or only for admins should also be behind a permission, but the reasoning should always be sent to the user that was banned.
