clarkwinkelmann What do you call theming ? To me this extension and the one I want both concern permissions.
Flarum Help Tags
Hi! I'm a bit confused by what exactly you're requesting. If it's a system where only the first post by a user requires approval, then unfortunately this is not something I see in the future of this extension.
askvortsov Actually the other thread went off topic by my fault. What I'm looking for is a simpler way (admin wise) to have certain groups only access certain categories (main primary tags). It can be used in various ways, for example language specific groups with language specific categories, or hierarchy based membership (level 1 access category A, level 2 access categories A B C, etc).
Hey, just wondering if this is compatible with the latest release since there is no proof in this discussion that this will work on the latest BETA of Flarum (0.1.0-beta.13).
It should be compatible. However, the bug identified above still stands: it might not play well with other extensions. Starting beta 14 that won't be a problem though.
v0.2.0
Support for Beta 14
The incompatibilities with other extensions have been fixed, this extension should be good to use again!

@askvortsov is on with recent updates
thanks!
v0.3.1
Support for beta 15
Hi,
It seems we have a privacy break here (beta 13) : when we configure a help tag as you describe, it works perfectly but in the "user activity" page every member of the forum can see every one's posts in all discussions, regardless the tag permissions (including byobu discussions..!)
When I disable the help tags extension, everything's back to normal
ornanovitch Does anybody can try to reproduce ? It seems to be a particularly sensitive issue to me...
ornanovitch Hey, thanks for reporting! Before beta 14, this extension used a messy, hacky workaround, which conflicted with other extensions (askvortsov); that's likely how the issue was introduced. With beta 14, the implementation was massively improved and simplified. I do not recommend using this on installations before beta 14 (or using those versions at all, for that matter).
ornanovitch when we configure a help tag as you describe, it works perfectly but in the "user activity" page every member of the forum can see every one's posts in all discussions, regardless the tag permissions (including byobu discussions..!)
I can't replicate this behaviour.
In my local test forum I have - as you described - the Help Tags extension installed and activated. I have three users A is Admin, B und C are regular users. User B has written in the Help Tag category as well as private discussions with A. User C can't see any of these contents supposed to be hidden, neither on the index page, nor in the respective tags / list of private discussions nor in his user page (posts and discussions).
askvortsov Pollux OK thank you very much for your replies I will re enable the extension as soon as I'll upgrade to beta 14/15 and then send you a confirmation that everything's back to normal
ornanovitch I checked this with Beta 15, the Posts/Discussions are not visible but there is the count (Like Posts 1
Discussions 1) which don't think is serious
v0.4.0
Updated for beta 16
v1.0.0
Flarum 1.0 compatibility
Hey there,
Would it be possible to implement a feature to whitelist a discussion inside a tag ?
So for instance we have a tag called Ban Appeals
where the users should only see their own discussions + an extra discussion that shows like the instructions on the format of the post.
This could be achievable by adding a secondary tag to that discussion.

v1.1.0
Admins can designate certain discussions as "visible to all" (there's a button in the discussion controls). This will show the discussion to all users who can post in the discussions tags. You might want to use this together with sticky. This is useful for things like instructions. Although I'll add that for format, you might want to use the "discussion template" extension.
Guests will likely not be able to see "visible to all" discussions, but that doesn't matter since they can't post in the tag anyway.
Should fix pustinek
Wow, that was fast. Thank you very much
pustinek You'll need to wait for Flarum 1.0 to use it, but it's a very useful feature. Thanks for the suggestion!
