010101 Hello, anyone. I’m curious if these odd issues I mentioned in September are still happening to others? I am probably wrong but I thought I narrowed it down to the state string. A random string that is generated and must match throughout the log in process I think or the log in fails? I’m clueless about this oauth stuff so I don’t know.

To recap, I never could get Twitter or Google working. Only Facebook. 🤪

This is so stupid. I tried clearing the cache many times on my computer but I couldn't figure it out. I think I solved the problem after I tried it one more time after you. Thanks for everything @datlechin

The weirdness and this extension continues. The other day after being unsuccessful with this extension before, I tried it again, and Twitter, Google, and Facebook login worked. But, this was from my laptop. Now, from my iPhone I get either “invalid state” or “an error occurred while trying to load this page.” These odd random bugs are so weird.

If there’s a developer out there with an iPhone, try this extension. And if it works, just wait. Try again on a different device the next day. Weird stuff.

I wonder if it has to do with the way iOS opens windows/tabs? The code thinks something nefarious is going on? Does iOS create new tabs during the login process when a regular desktop browser does not?

010101 Do you have PWA enabled? This caused a lot of issues to my forum (Facebook login gives me "Invalid state. Please try again"). Try disabling PWA and try again

I saw these issues noted by others earlier in this post, but I am surprised that there has been no response. When using "Sign up", after 3rd-party authorization, the login form returns BLANK input fields. Only when using "Login" will the input fields be populated correctly. This is of course not acceptable, since any new user will attempt to "sign up" if they are not yet registered user. Screenshots for clarity:

So this is kinda useless of course. Any new user will attempt to sign up with "sign up" and not "login", and the resulting screen will cause fail.

KarlWard I was thinking the other day that even if this is fixed, there should be an option to hide the oauth buttons on the sign up form. Just in case the forum owner wants to force people to sign up the normal way. Then, they can use one of the oauth buttons to log in as long as the accounts use the same email.

KarlWard This behavior is in Flarum core and not added by fof/oauth - in other words, this extension adds the OAuth providers which use the existing functionality in core to fill out the fields, etc.

Therefore, I believe this to be a core bug. Will investigate further.

Anyone test this on iPhone lately? I get this generic error. On my laptop it works. 🙄

Update: It only works in Chrome on my laptop. I think I discovered this before but just forgot.

Hmm. I’m stumped once again. I just tried twitter log in here at discuss on my iPhone and it works. So, it’s just my installation I guess. 😭

Alright, I know I've replied a lot. I tried deleting above posts but you all must have the delete post permission turned off or soft deleting posts is broken right now. I'll try to make this my last reply. I just discovered one other thing. The reason I feel like sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't comes down to the browser. If I try from my iPhone it doesn't work. If I try from Safari on my MacBook, it doesn't work. But, if I try from Chrome from my MacBook, it works. I've tried emptying cache/cookies. I just don't get why it acts buggy for me in certain browsers, and possibly only my installation of Flarum if I'm the only one still posting here about it.

I would concede and say, it's me. That I have the settings wrong. But, that can't be if it works in Chrome. Why is it working in Chrome on MacBook, but nowhere else for me? These kinds of bugs eat at me. It's the weirdest bug I've dealt with during my time with Flarum.

Well, for now, I'm using CSS hacks to hide social log in if Safari, or if iOS. First chunk targets Safari, second chunk targets iOS.

A similar error happens with Google Sign in. But, these errors only happen in Safari. In Chrome, I log in just fine with both. I am using the very latest MacOS.

It says bool given... so that means, boolean given and it doesn't like that?
