Update: the migration took longer than I expected, but most forums should be back online now, with their database and forum assets migrated.
The reason why it took so long is because a lot had changed. Different server setup required me to bash some scripts along the way to quickly convert existing configurations to the new format. And after maybe 4 attempts, it seems to have finally succeeded...
Known issues, for now:
- Redirection from
xxx.flarum.cloud
to xxx.freeflarum.com
and vice-versa doesn't work. Forums are accessible only via their literal domains. I have tested custom domains, and they should be working, but if it doesn't for you, please let me know.
...but other than that, everything seems to work so far? I've tried to create a new test forum, and it worked. I even received a fancy welcome E-mail from FreeFlarum, which confirmed that mail sending works and saved my sanity. How nice!
Anyways, pardon my reliefs. It was quite a ride. And as always, if you see anything weird, please let me know ASAP. I have visited a couple of forums, and they seem to be working fine.
FYI initial page loads will take some time. That's because Caddy is obtaining the SSL certificate for your forum (on-demand TLS). But after first visit, your forum should be back to the Traditional Blazing Flarum Speed™!
Full changelog will be posted here shortly after I figure out the redirection problem (so, ideally tomorrow). For now, test out some things and let me know how it works for you, I'd appreciate your input. Thank you everyone for being patient and sorry for the long downtime!
Edit: occasional 500 errors are expected, because the server is still doing some background jobs to complete the migration process. It should resolve itself when most of that stuff is done
Edit 2: I have to re-import a couple of databases
Edit 3: Now that's done too
