Hi, I'm planning to migrate to self-hosted, how do I export the data in FreeFlarum into a zip file and upload it to the new server? (including extensions, posts, users, etc.)

Leonart go to https://freeflarum.com/settings/account_settings and download your data from there. Note that this doesn't include the composer.json for extensions, you can find that here: https://github.com/FreeFlarum/flarum-multitenant/blob/master/composer.json

Leonart the CSV export is irrelevant, use the "Download Data" button above which contains the correct files required for import. I implemented CSV export on request of one forum, for Excel analysis purposes, and it's not meant for migration

Yolo the URL should load if you are logged in. What error/response does it show?

As for your original question, yes FreeFlarum backups the database and assets of all forums every day at 23:00. The export through FreeFlarum's site is always live though

what about uploads?

Steve33 IIRC, the entire assets folder is in the export, which includes uploads and other extension assets. This should also be the case for automatic backups

SKevo Hi, I have done import the sql provided in the downloaded backup, in Phpmyadmin still showing posts, discussions but when I go to my new forum, there are no discussions show up, so can you help me? Thank you

Leonart have you cleared cache and migrated the database (php flarum cache:clear, php flarum migrate). See also https://docs.flarum.org/troubleshoot/

SKevo Judging from the looks of it, this seems to be the code of the underlying library that handles the image cropping itself. However, I can't tell what exactly is going on there, as nothing else was logged both on client and server side. So maybe someone else has more information as of why this happens?

I was wondering. How long does a freeflarum-forum need to be "inactive" before it gets removed? I noticed my website/forum disappeared and was last visited on 22may

_S_1_M_0_N_ the exact logic is described in more detail in these posts: SKevo, SKevo, and also in the documentation.

Note that since then, the logic might've changed a bit, but I referenced the posts anyways so you can understand the mechanism better. But the current logic is: if admin account was last seen before 2 months, the forum is inactive.

However, this logic will be changed again - I am considering to just keep it simple, such as "if less than 2 posts, it is unused" in the future, as the current system is not very reliable in some edge cases (for example, admins not using the main admin account - which is discouraged, but well, it happens)
