Great to know your topic by Google. I even not find out you after stuck in 3 days (2 - 3 weeks ago) with Flarum and intend to quit it, transfer to Xenforo. But the last, I can finally find out you. Login to say thank you only! 😂

I have noticed that FreeFlarum Forums are on an old version of Flarum 0.1.0-beta.7. Which is FIVE versions behind the most recent version (0.1.0-beta.8.2). The newest version of Flarum 0.1.0-beta.8.2 is very useful as it comes with a bunch of new features such as Admin Dashboard, Improved Search, New Formatting Buttons, security fixes, and etc. They are all listed in this Thread. With 0.1.0-beta.9 released, it would be nice that FreeFlarum will be using the latest software instead of being behind seven versions.

tl;dr Please update FreeFlarum software to the latest Flarum software 0.1.0-beta.9

- Edit: After reading the release post for BETA 8, it stated that BETA 8.1 & 8.2 had been released also. Corrected 0.1.0-beta.8 to 0.1.0-beta.8.2 Added, "Which is FIVE versions behind the most recent version (0.1.0-beta.8.2)." & "security fixes, and etc." Updated "one version behind instead of one." to "one version behind instead of six.

- Edit v2: Support for 0.1.0-beta.9 has dropped, making it the new latest version of Flarum. Fixed all terms.

    Please, update to latest version. Or at least any further information and maybe a response from dev if it'll stay up? I know I already made a thread for this, but information please... Are you gonna wait for a release?

    Hi all, sorry to keep you waiting. I'm looking forward to upgrade all 4000 FreeFlarum forums to the latest & greatest beta9, but... it would take me 2-3 full days to get servers and code all dance together for the good cause. Because I have another full time job, it would greatly encourage me if you would consider making a small donation to prove that FreeFlarum is worth maintaining.

      I'm ready to pay a reasonable price for better service and removing the ads.
      I'm having a couple of issues right now.

      1. Oops! xxx.com does not CNAME to xxxx.freeflarum.com . My domain registrar said the settings were correct on their end. But after 12 hours, I still get the Oops message.
      2. All of my browsers block my site. The warning message : The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.freeflarum.com, freeflarum.com. Seeing this message, I believe every visitor will be discouraged to sign up.

          Thanks to all who have donated, your gift is heartwarming and also a confirmation that FreeFlarum has engaged users.

          I am working on upgrading all forums. Because of this, the settings feature won't be available for the coming days. Eg you won't be able to switch domain name or download an export of your forum. Will post updates in this thread.

          Bluejeanx I concur, I would like to set up my own flarum site using freeflarum, but don't want to use a version that is 2y old...

              FreeFlarum beta9 has just been released! All newly created forums will run the latest and greatest. To start your own beta9, head over to FreeFlarum.com.

              Soon, I will start migrating existing forums over. Let me know if you want to be first.

              Please post your extension requests in this thread. Requirements:

              • Confirmation that it works in beta9
              • Does not download PHP code or send large amount of mail
              • Does not need manual intervention to install/update (removing database tables etc).
              • No ads
